mail merge with cloud account will not work

i'm new. when i do a lookup, selecting my contacts for a group email, i click write and mail merge is grayed out. instructions i find are for using act on my own computer but i have a cloud account. what now?

  Can you please tell us what email service you use? We can test and see why mail merge isn't working.
