Sending a single email from Gmail in Chrome
I have been trying to send a simple email from within act for the last hour. When I click on the email address nothing happens. I use gmail and expect that it would bring me to a gmail dialogue box to send an email. Nothing happens. I am using a Chrome Browser and have sent my default email client to gmail. I am also on Windows 8.1 but do not have a Microsoft Account. Why is something so simple, so hard to do? Is there anyone available to answer this question?

Hi Stephen,
Default email settings must be set on your specific device. This feature is currently functioning within Act! Cloud to open in your default email, so perhaps there is an issue with your default settings for gmail?
I found these instructions helpful when setting Gmail as default from Chrome -
1) Open Gmail in Chrome and click the Protocol Handler icon (overlapping-diamonds in the top right) in your browser's address bar.
2) When prompted to "Allow Gmail to open all email links?", select "Use Gmail," and click "Done." If Gmail is not an option, but Google is, select Google.
Can you try the steps above and let me know if this solves your issue?

Your instructions did work once I figured out how to work around the annoying Windows 8.1 intrusion into my workflow. I do not have nor want the Microsoft account. The application took me on an endless loop of forcing me to sign up. I don't know what idiots are doing in marketing departments of tech companies these days. (Dish network does this too). All they do with this "forced choice" is alienate customers. After decades of being a loyal Microsoft customer, I am done. I thank you for your help.
