Exporting Contacts and Notes

HELP! There has got to be a better way to do this. 

My dilemma: We purchased ACT Essentials to basically serve as a fancy way to keep track of thousands of contact and be able to track our day to day conversations with them. 

The problem: We are unable to export reports of our contacts with notes of what has been discussed, etc. 

It was suggested that we upgrade to ACT Premium or some other version of ACT that will let us achieve this. HOWEVER, ACT apparently offers no solution to export all of the data we have already collected (contacts, notes, etc.) into an upgraded version. 

We would essentially have to start from scratch if we'd like to upgrade?

  As previously posted, I am aware you can export contacts. 

  The article you linked gives zero information on my actual problem.

  Apologies for that, I seem to have misread your request. Unfortunately It's not possible to export your activities/notes from Act! Essentials.

  I can't seem to find my exported contacts...I got that response that they were uploaded and I can't find them...help please give me a call.

  Hi Shirley,

  Are you trying to export your contacts to Excel? When you export your browser should download an Excel file which you should then be able to open and save. The default name for this file is generally 'Contacts'.
