Update Custon Fields on Import

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for your question. You will have to pre set the custom fields before you begin the import of contacts. To set up the fields needed please follow the knowledgebase article listed below:

    Brittany,
    I had already done this even before I asked the question in the first place. This is not a solution.
    To restate the question differently, how do I make mass updates to custom fields, or any field for that matter?
    The only way I can see to do this is to export the records, make updates to the CSV, then re-import them into Act! Essentials. This however, doesn't over-write existing data.
    Alternatively, I can export records, delete them from Act! and re-import them with changes, but this loses any Groups the original contacts were in so this is no solution.

    Hi Michael,

    Only the title of the custom filed can be mass updated for all contacts. In regards to the content within the field it would need to be updated manually for each contact. Having a mass update option is a great idea and I will pass it along to the development team. You can also add ideas by clicking the bubble icon to the bottom right corner of your Act! Essentials account.
