    Hi Cindy,

    When you click an email address in Act! Essentials, it does record a completed activity automatically.

    In the future, we will be providing you the ability of recording the email into the Act! Essentials database. However the service is still being tested at this time.

     The email address in the Act! Essentials customer contact card is a simple ‘Mailto:’ which means that your computer’s default email program (whatever that may be, e.g. Outlook, Thunderbird, Incredimail etc)  should populate with) an empty email with their email address pre-filled in the 'To' Field. If that isn't happening. I would suspect that there is no default email program selected.

    To check what the default email program is set to in Windows Default Apps/Programs from the Windows start menu. If your default program for email is not set. Then try setting to whatever program you use for email.

    If it is already pre-filled with a program, is it the correct program? Can you click on an email address in another website and it launch an empty email with the email address filled in?
